What kind of batteries do electric cars use?
Most new electric cars sold today use essentially the same battery technology: hundreds of individual cells packed into pocket modules to make one big battery. The largest are massive, measuring several meters long and weighing several hundred kilograms; this is why most are placed under the floor inside the car cha ssis in what is sometimes called a skateboard configuration.
